As I’m sure most of you that have hit 90 and care about achievements or mounts at all, or really even if you care about super cute things, you’ve headed over to the Arboretum in The Jade Forest and you’ve started your cloud serpent dailies.
I love these dailies and that’s saying something since before this expansion I HATED dailies, like I’d rather PvP than do dailies level of hate.
When A Mamma Cloud Serpent and A…
So you start this whole shindig off with getting your egg, and since apparently your serpent wants to be a preemie and hatch immediately you get to watch a lovely, albeit ADORABLE cut scene about the little serpent of cute being hatched.
As an FYI I chose blue cause it’s my favorite color.
So you watch your egg hatch, and then the blue exclamation points start popping up. Essentially your serpent needs to grow and it needs to be trained this is something that you’ll be doing with dailies.
You have to complete some profession based dailies for the farm that is “watching” after your spawn of joy such as:
First Aid:
For the first aid one you have to use your own bandages, to heal injured serpents on the off shore island, so stop giving your guild tailor all your cloth, she has plenty.
Archeology:
Finding archeology fragments for them, which help uncover the ancient past of the Order of the Cloud Serpent.
Fishing:
You’ll need to use fishing at the rivers around there and fish up 10 Sugar Minnows.
Cooking:
Use your cooking skills to make 5 Fish Cakes, this does mean that you are going to want to stock up on Golden Carp.
You can only pick those quests up IF your charcter has the profession, so get on picking up those secondaries, I like this I feel like this expansion is making my secondary professions almost as important as my main profs.
Do you know how much new models cost?
So you’re doing these dailies and if you do them everyday you’ll start to notice something about your hatchling it ACTUALLY grows, it doesn’t magically go from being a baby up to a full grown serpent, it’s kinda amazing.
Once your serpent gets to I guess teenage form you can ride him, but only to train, here you’ll start getting quests from the Flight Trainer, you’ll have to fly through some cloud rings which will give you a speed boost, you’ll also have to “tag” some hot air balloons.
This quest was easy at first since you could just follow the cloud rings but then as you went further there were cloud rings everywhere and I got a little lost, but managed to finish it anyway.
Of course you’ll have your mount full grown and trained ready to leave the farm for you when you hit exalted, but what happens if you’re too impatient to wait, but you have an obscene amount of time on your hands?
Well much like the Netherwing quests you can go hunting for Onyx eggs, there are only a few and they are VERY hard to spot, but here’s a picture incase you’re curious.
No, that’s not me, I have yet to find one.
I can’t wait for mine to be fully grown and while I will likely only use him for long flights, since instant flight form is still favorable, I can’t wait to ride him!
/Cheers
Hmmm, looks like I’ll need to level cooking / fishing / first aid on my Paladin – worth it certainly for the mount
It’s funny how many people hate dailies, I LOVE them! ^_^
“I’d rather do PvP level of hate”
So all that retching I heard on vent whenever I mentioned the Argent Tournament…?
I do like how they’ve actually managed to come up with some relatively fun dailies, and rewards that people other than just the resident achievement whore will want.
The only thing I don’t like about the dailies is that you’ll need to be spending 3+ hours on them a day, there’s so many. O.O that’s all my playing time on the weekdays! :X
