I don’t know of a single way to make doing dailies better. Honestly, I can’t and for that I am sorry.
I didn’t start doing dailies until WotLK and the Argent Tournament. I don’t think that I can express my sheer frustration and utter loathing of the Argent dailies, but I’ll try.
I would rather sit in traffic, on a hot day, with no working AC, in a black car for an hour, then do Argent Dailies.
Some of you may be thinking, “Aunaka dailies are a great way to earn reputation for a faction, and you can make lots of money by doing them.” You’re right, it is. “Plus, Aunaka you could get pets and mounts!”
“Pets, you say?” Damn you. Damn you Blizzard!
I first discovered these dailies while questing, and then after was asked by my boyfriend to do them with him. He told me that if I did them with someone else it would be more entertaining, and it would go by faster.
He lied.
Jousting doesn’t go by faster no matter what you do. I can imagine if you didn’t suck at jousting these might be significantly more engaging, but I couldn’t hit a building with my lance, if I tried, and tried I did. So it got to the point that I would bargain with the man, if he did my jousting dailies, I would farm herbs for him.
Cause damn it, I wanted those pets.
By far I’ve found that Argent Dailies are the worst in the game. Granted I’m more than certain I haven’t done all the dailies in game, but it’s what I’m going with.
Wait…Dailies I enjoy?
I think the best dailies that WoW ever did were actually the Molten Front ones. I know there are many people who don’t like them, but for me these worked like a dream.
The vendors had a lot of fun toys that I wanted, and best of all most of the quests were groupable. So we’d get a couple of us together and split up the quests, before we knew it DONE!
I will say that I did the Walking Through Fire set of dailies exactly once to get the achievement, and will never do it again. I don’t know who would choose that over The Forlorn Spire, but I’m sure their the same people that actually go back to do Argent Dailies for fun.
Making it Worth the Pain
I suppose if I am being honest, I should also say that there are some rewards I have earned from doing daily quests that make them bearable.
- Money. As a raider, about half of my repairs are covered by the guild bank, but then the other half I pay for myself. Anyone who raids can attest to them not being cheap, especially if you are in a progression guild.
- Pets. I LOVE my Teldrassil Sproutling (Which I earned, back when I was Ally), I teehee whenever I pull out my Sen’jin Fetish, and the Enchanted Broom for the Blood Elves makes for snickering in raids after many skeletons are littering the floor.
- Stuff.
There’s the Mylune’s Call, I always pop this when we take a guild picture. I feel like as a druid it’s the best reward I’ve ever earned.
That and my Mushroom Chair.
Do I think Dailies are a necessary evil? Yes. I hate typing that, but they provide people with a guaranteed way of making money. Plus some people, and if you’re one of them bravo for reading this whole post, who actually enjoy running 25 dailies a day.
What are your favorites? What is your favorite reward?
/Cheers

I am not sure if I’ve ever done a daily. That’s sad. But, after reading this post, I’m torn between missing out on something and not wasting my time. I HAVE LEATHERWORKING TO CATCH UP ON!!! I found that once you get to 260 leatherworking, it takes FOREVER to get all the mats for continuation.
That being said, when do you want to run a daily?
Love you.
You used the word “want”, I don’t ever “want” to do a daily again, but i will have to in Mists.
