Ok that’s a bit of a generalized statement. I hate rogues and mages.
There. Better?
First I will say that I’ve never played a rogue, and by never I do mean NEVER.
I’ve never even rolled one just for fun to see what they’re like.
My loathing for the class is something deep seeded in my healing psyche that I don’t know if I could physically push the button to create said class.
I know. You guys are feeling a lot of hate coming from me allow me, if you will, to elaborate of my sheer disdain for the class.
Rogues are A**holes
It has been said more than once in my blog that I don’t enjoy PvP except in rare occasions.
Rogues would be one of those reasons. I’d say that I’m not being specifically targeted, but there is an addon which would argue that point.
HealersMustDie, is the most frustrating, and shitty addon that I can think of. I would rather have an addon that verbally abused me every time I wiped on anything, than have this addon be in existence.
I’m also certain that all rogues have this addon.
Actually I think that when you make a rogue it’s downloaded for you.
I can’t count the amount of times that I have been killed by a rogue, or better yet tortured by a rogue.
Kick, Stun, wait till it wears off let me get 5 feet, stun. Kill, Kill, KILL! Rinse, repeat as needed to seal in your application for ?I’m a rogue and therefore must be horrible to all druid healers.?
As an addendum, I know that I am making wildly broad accusations and that I’m sure it only applies to a very small percentage of people who roll the class.
Who’s Brilliant Plan Was It To Make Them Wear Leather?
So let me see if I can work this out:
- Rogues are melee
- Rogues stand very near the ass of a pissed of monster most of the time.
- Rogues don’t get a whole lot of self healing
Why are rogues in leather?
I mean I understand that from a logistics, and basic physics of the thought behind the class, that leather makes the most stealthy choice.
To put a melee DPS in something other than plate or mail, makes me as a healer very sad, because for some reason Rogues just LOVE taking unnecessary damage.
Huh, What?
To be fair, Rogues are not the only class that seem to get themselves in trouble.
Mages. Can we talk?
I know that you do a stupid amount of damage, but you’re rotation is normally fairly easy. Arcane I’m looking at you!
Fire, you’re fine sweetie, but stop eating the glue, give it back to the raid leader.
Why is it that this class seems to be the ones that just stands in everything?
- Stand in defile. (Think about it, I promise that if you ever had a problem with Defile it was your Mage.)
- Stand in the black stuff on Zon’ozz trash.
- Stand in Twillight (Look up the zone from OS).
- Stand in the numerous other things I can’t think of right now.
It’s like they find they’re spot and they stick there. Which is even more funny when you take into account that they have BLINK! Stop. Standing. In. Stuff.
Unless it’s Efflorescence in which case, Stop running away when I Swiftmend you!
Gather ‘Round Kids
I know that today’s post was a little bit harsh, and I feel like perhaps a slight Class Hate Crime.
So I will apologize to those Rogues out there that aren’t dicks in BG or that try to mitigate the damage they take.
I also apologize to the Mages that make a concertized effort to move out of mechanics that make your healers life harder, and can wipe the raid.
For everyone else, be better.

I have to admit that when I levelled my rogue I downloaded healers have to die
Not because I can’t recognise a healer when I see one but more for the other aspect of it. The bit that yells when the healer behind you, the one who is healing you is being beaten up by some disgusting rogue of the opposing faction.
I still feel unclean when I play my rogue though :p

OMG THIS. lol I’m fairly new to healing on my shammy, so I’ve been going through random heroics just to get more used to it… If there’s a person who stands in *everything* (except, of course, my healing rain), it’s a freaking Mage. I don’t get it.
I only type what I find true, so yeah Mages are the ones standing in EVERYTHING!

I see someone had a bad night of dealing with rogues…I must say from a healing point of view, they are one of the worst to deal with. So I agree with you there. On a side note though when doing RBG’s with my guild, I LOVE ROGUES!!!! Smoke bomb and the ability to sneak into flag rooms and the ability to kill healers! It will be ok though, you will get your revenge some day. Heck, next time your in a raid with a rogue, don’t heal him

Also? Killing spree can eat a dick…it kills our rogue more than anything else in the game!
Who’s brilliant plan was it to make them wear Vanq? I mean…rogues stand in stuff and die, mages stand in stuff and die, dks…well they have stupidly op self-healing and never die, but they all steal tier gear from the hardworking druids that keep them all from dying from the stuff they stand in.
Ironically, my wife plays a rogue, I play the healer (usually you hear so much about it being the other way around). I asked her how she felt about being such a hated class. Of course, as a new player back in 2006, she didn’t know what she was getting into when she chose her rogue – She never pvp’s, can’t stand it. She just likes stabbing stuff in raids and is quite good at it and is proud of her achievements in pve. The one or two times I’ve gotten her to try pvp, she comes away upset about the same things you ended up pointing out. Rogues are pretty hated, but they also get targeted a ton (when not stealthed). People go out of their way to go after a rogue as much as a healer. Warlocks have the same stigma.
Our team implemented a policy for those that die to stupid things (standing in the fire) and cause wipes. We make them sing on mumble. The default song is “I’m a little teapot.” which is embarassing enough to make people not do what they did again. It’s a silly fun little rule that helps call people out for doing things they shouldn’t without being mean about it.

Well, a rogue´s sole reason for existance in pvp is to screw over the opposing team´s healers and generally impede their strategy and battle flow.
We are just doing what we were designed for when we torture your behind over and over.
With all that said, i bet most of us would make your life harsh just for the fun of it <3
