T-minus some odd short amount of days left and we’ll all be going out in to the great wide Panda filled world. You’ll slaughter foes, makes friends, and create your very own farm! Most of all hopefully you’ll start Raiding, or running Dungeons for that matter and with that you’ll get to meet or run with some amazing healers.
We’re here to make sure that YOU don’t die, but there are certain things YOU can do to help us in that vein.
Be One With Yourself
Everyone has these lovely things called self preservation cooldowns, they are abilities that Blizzard has been so kind to give you that either allows you to heal yourself, ignore a % of damage, or absorb damage. Examples:
- Druids: Ironbark, Might of Ursoc, Renewal
- Mage: Ice Block, Cauterize
- Warlock: Harvest Life, Soul Leech, Dark Regen
- Death Knight: Purgatory, Death Pact
- Hunter: Exhilaration, Spirit Bond
- Monk: Chi Burst, Dampen Harm
- Paladin: Sacred Shield, Holy Avenger
- Priest: Angelic Bulwark, Power Word: Shield
- Rogue: Cheat Death, Leeching Poison
- Shaman: Astral Guidance, Healing Tide Totem
- Warrior: Enraged Regen, Second Wind
- WARLOCK HEALTHSTONES!!!
See no excuses. There are times, and no healer wants to openly admit this but I will, there are times when we just can’t get to you fast enough, or honestly we just don’t have the mana.
This is where your ability to be aware of everything that is going on, and great raid communication comes into play, when you’re going to die USE a cooldown! Or have a talent that just allows you to come back from what would be a fatal blow.
Standing In Fire Gives You A Buff
I know that I’ve said this time and time again, but please, PLEASE, PLEASE for the love of all that is holy watch your DAMN feet!
Raid awareness takes you from a good player, to a great player. Watch your feet, watch the mechanics, watch your health, and manage to do all of that and DPS/Tank/Heal.
The less shit you stand in or get hit by the easier it is for your healers.
So I will take this time now to say thank you to all of you that will actively try to be great players, learn your cooldowns, and if you’re a raider remember your DPS is 0 if you’re dead.
/Cheers
