Choose Your Own Adventure: Sheriff Astarus

Welcome back adventures to the third installment of CYOA, today we will be seeing how the Sheriff of hour fine Haunted Mills is doing. If you’ve not read the first or second installments of this series they can be found Here, and then Here.

Once you have vanquishes the warped and twisted mind of the Mayor, your teleported back to the road.

You may have bested my Carpenter and his beloved, and out smarted the dimwitted Mayor, but you’ve still got my two most precious followers. It looks like you outlaws need to answer to the Sheriff.

The Sheriffs house is a small wooden structure in front of you, there are no people wondering around it, nor is there a forest to block it. You can only imagine that the horrors are waiting inside for you.

Naxx isn’t the only place with Time Lord

Tech

Phase 1

Once inside his house, it is actually a very large prison with a round room in front of you, cells lining all of the wall. Once you are past the first set of doors, the ones in front of you will open one at a time. Each will reveal one of the party members, you have to tank them and burn them down. They will either copy you, or if you choose to do nothing they will do a standard rotation. Once you’ve got one down to 25% health the next will come out. Until you’ve killed each of yourselves.

At the end of the hall there is a door clearly marked Sheriff’s Office, you will have looted a key off of one of your bodies, and you can use this to unlock the door.

Once the door unlocks, it gets blown back, and you each get flung down the hallway, out walks the sheriff, having to stoop his head to fit in the room.

You think you can just come into to my prison and break out those I’ve worked hard to put away. I know your kind, and I won’t have them wandering my peaceful village.

Behind Bars:

  • The sheriff teleports a random target, except for the tank, into a nearby jail cell where they have to kill the mob inside to get a key and escape.

Arrested:

  • A cast that silences/disarms all party members until they are able to distract him, by releasing a nearby prisoner. He will cast this until there are no more prisoners to release. He then enrages.

Phase 2:

 Lockdown:

  • The Sheriff draws his blunderbuss and starts to fire at the tank, doing 200% damage which is then split to the rest of the party. At this point he just needs to be DPS’d down before he does more damage then your healer can keep up with.

Once he is dead, the room becomes the quaint house and he in laying tied up on the bed dying.

Thank you for releasing me from his hold.

You may now loot Spirit of Astarus from the body and all his sweet loots.

/Cheers

Nice! I like encounters like this with the solo add mechanic. I adored Leotheras. I think I was one of the only healers in our guild that did…
