Seriously folks, it’s bad. I’ve stabbed someone for a pet…ok that’s not totally true. Technically I jousted people for pets…ok that’s not true either, I’ve made my fiancé joust people for pets. I can’t joust.
What is it about Pets that get us going? I’ve found this most commonly in the female players of Azeroth. Maybe it’s cause they’re cute and cuddly, but it’s not like they all even do anything.
I can understand ones like Eggbert, who’s been inciting heart attacks in raiders since he came out. My old raid group used to put a mark on his head so that we knew it wasn’t a hunter pet pulling.
Even ones like Mr. Grubbs. He doesn’t have a great skin, but when that little maggot flips over your head I can’t help but chuckle.
I can’t explain the need to have ones like Tabby cats, or the baby raptors. I have them, and I love them, but they do nothing, and I never bring them out. So why do I have them? Maybe I’m a completionist, my achievement score begs to differ with that argument though.
You know what? Screw it. I love my pets, and oh god I can’t wait for pet battles.

A good friend of mine was over at the house when I was on WoW a while back, it was during Children’s Week, I was looking through the available pets and they asked what other pets I had…
She quickly regretted that question. After pulling out my robots, I have quite a few of them, she started to suspect that I was running some sort underground SkyNet program.
I assured her this was not the case. At which point Lil’ XT blew up a robot that another player had out. It wasn’t helpful for supporting my innocence in the coming robot apocalypse.
Bitter Taste of Envy
I love my man, but I might shank him if it meant that I could have his Murkimus the Gladiator. Every year I try to motivate myself to sign up for the arena, just to get the damn pet, but every year I don’t.
Added to that list is the Turkey pet, it’s such a simple one, but there is nothing more hilarious then watching that little turkey suicide itself on a cooking fire. I’m sure that says something about my sick humor.

I have farmed, and farmed, and farmed, and farmed for them, but no matter how many times I run a dungeon, kill oozes, fish, or visit those *&#^ing dig sites I can’t get them. They are my unattainable.
What is your favorite pet in game? Or the one you’ve hunted for but never got?

I think I’m up to 160 pets. My favorite has got to be the Firefly, for obvious reasons =) I farmed for it for a few weeks and eventually just bought it.
I don’t really farm for pets, I just buy them. But I would like the fox kit and every time I’m in TBP I go out of my way to kill them.
